National Open College is excited to announce the successful completion of a Community Health Diagnosis field trip in Russwa, conducted by our Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) Semester VI students. This hands-on experience aimed to provide students with practical exposure to community health assessment and intervention strategies.

Highlights of the Field Trip:

  1. Student Engagement: Our BPH VI students actively participated in the field trip, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
  2. Community Interaction: Students engaged with the local community in Russwa, gathering valuable insights into public health challenges and needs.

Objectives:

  • Health Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments to identify prevalent health issues in the community.
  • Data Collection: Gather data on various health indicators, including nutrition, sanitation, and disease prevalence.
  • Intervention Strategies: Develop and propose effective intervention strategies to address identified health issues.
  • Capacity Building: Enhance students’ skills in public health research, data analysis, and community engagement.

Key Activities:

  1. Surveys and Interviews: Conducted detailed surveys and interviews with community members to collect health-related data.
  2. Health Education: Provided health education sessions on important topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  3. Data Analysis: Analyzed the collected data to identify key health trends and issues within the community.
  4. Report Preparation: Compiled findings into a comprehensive report, outlining the health status of the Russwa community and recommending actionable interventions.

The field trip concluded with students presenting their findings and recommendations to local health officials and community leaders, fostering a collaborative approach to improving public health in Russwa.
