National Open College proudly welcomes back Prof. A.K. Sivakumar, a globally respected Corporate Trainer and Management Consultant, and the founding coordinator of our Healthcare Management Program. A University Gold Medallist with advanced training from UC Berkeley and the University of Birmingham, Prof. Sivakumar has played a pioneering role in healthcare management education across South Asia and beyond, with impactful work in countries like India, Nepal, Kenya, and El Salvador. His extensive experience includes advising the World Health Organization and leading the development of key academic programs supported by WHO and IAPB.
In his recent keynote on “Opportunities & Challenges in Healthcare Management,” Prof. Sivakumar emphasized the critical need for systems thinking, digital transformation, and quality-driven management in the region. His unmatched expertise in strategic planning, HR, finance, and soft skills continues to inspire and guide the next generation of healthcare leaders. His return to National Open College reinforces our commitment to excellence and global standards in healthcare education.

Prof. Dr. Bachchu Kailash Kaini
Qualifications : PhD, MHA, MBA
National Open College is proud to welcome Dr. Kaini, a seasoned healthcare leader and academic, as a Visiting Professor. A Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University (UK), SFHEA, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health, Dr. Kaini brings over 32 years of experience in healthcare management across the UK and Nepal.
He previously held senior roles within the NHS, including Head of Services and Governance Manager, and has led operations in both public and private hospitals. He also served as a consultant to USAID’s Strengthening System for Better Health in Nepal.
An experienced educator, Dr. Kaini has taught at multiple UK and Nepali institutions and has contributed to curriculum design and academic leadership. He has authored three books and published extensively in international journals.
We are honored to have Dr. Kaini back at National Open College, where he also served as the former coordinator of the PG School of Healthcare Management.
